I grew up thinking patriotism meant parades and pledges. Trust the process. Respect the office. Let the experts handle it.

Then the experts got fired. The process got rigged. And the office got occupied by someone who uses the flag as a prop and the Constitution as a suggestion.

This isn't politics as usual. This is the thing historians warned about — and most of us spent years assuming couldn't happen here.

Question The Nation was born from that reckoning.

I'm not a pundit. Not a party operative. Not a billionaire with a PAC. I'm a citizen who got angry, got focused, and decided that silence was its own kind of complicity.

So I put the dictionary definition of fascism on a shirt. Then democracy. Clear words. No spin. No party line — just the vocabulary a free people need to recognize what they're living through.

People stopped. Read. Argued. Agreed. Disagreed loudly.

Good. That's the point.
